Learn, Lead, Lend Love Luncheon
This event is a fundraiser! Please join us and show your support for BRAVE! This event was designed by the BRAVE team to serve as a vehicle through which participants will learn more about BRAVE and how they can support our mission. There will be a presentation of BRAVE projects, campaigns and student success stories that we hope will demonstrate and celebrate all that we do at BRAVE! All money raised through this event will go towards BRAVE’s day to day operations, including our Service Learning projects. With your donations to BRAVE you are contributing to the spread of knowledge, leadership, kindness and love in our shared communities.
Send a Girl to School
Currently, there are over 62 million girls around the world who are not in school, but deserve to be! This campaign focuses on supporting girls and their fight for their right to education. BRAVE has hosted this initiative for three years, 2017-2018 being our fourth year running! In our organization's history we have raised enough funds to send over 36 girls to school. Through this project we will spread awareness and raise money for girls in the developing world. Many of our BRAVE school partners and students hold a week long coin drive through which teachers, staff and students at the school volunteer to participate in a friendly competition of coin collection! We challenge YOU: how much can you collect?!
MLK Service Learning Trip
BRAVE is planning to embark on our first ever, domestic service learning experience. BRAVE students will be traveling to our nation's capital, Washington D.C., to evaluate and investigate the history of race in the United States and the current day implications of that complex history. Students will be spending three nights visiting the African American Museum, National Archives, Holocaust Museum, and the public monuments and memorials on the D.C. Mall. Students will also collaborate with schools and the local community in a direct service event for MLK Day. Our main objective for this trip is to build a deeper understanding of the complexity of social justice issues in the United States, specifically regarding race.
Student Leadership Training
One consistent way BRAVE brings our mission to life is through programming called leadership training. These sessions are developed and implemented by the BRAVE team. Currently, BRAVE partners with 14 public schools to implement BRAVE programs; including elementary schools, middle schools, high schools and universities. Each leadership training session engages students in the BRAVE mission; challenging and inspiring them to be BRAVE and self-empowered contributors to a better world. All sessions are unique, interactive, energized and very student centered. Each activity and discussion is focused on students discovery of their best selves. Bringing a BRAVE session to your school!
